How We Work

Although everybody’s garden room project is different, timings can be hard to set in stone, so we at ITGR will explain each of the processes that you will go through before we hand you your keys.
1. Enquiry
Your initial enquiry will be made by either email or a phone call, where either one of our Co-founders Andy or Paul, will call you back for an informal chat, to get a better understanding of what you require. They will ask you various questions and will be able to advise you accordingly, you can equally also ask them any questions that you may have.
2. Site Visit
Once you are happy the next stage will be to arrange a site visit, where one of our Co-founders will come and meet you at the property where the garden room is to be built. There they will take measurements, assess access and see if there is any clearance that needs to be done prior to construction. They will also be able to advise on trees and whether an Arboculturalist will need to be involved. They will then talk through with you what you will using your garden room for gym, office, etc and offer suggestions to reimagine your space. Suggest designs, storage space, windows, cladding.
3. Proposal
Following our site visit we should have all the information required to give a detailed proposal within one week of our site visit. We will happily refine your proposal if you wish. Once you have decided to use ITGR, and whether to adapt from our Signature range or go fully bespoke designed, we will process your order and then pass your brief onto our Architect for plans to be drawn up. ITGR advise that either Permitted Development or Full Planning Permission is granted before construction starts. Our in-house Planning Consultant is able to this for you. It takes approximately 6-8 weeks to obtain the relevant permissions.
4. Building
Once everything has been granted, we will give you a start date, all materials will be ordered, site cleared, groundworks done. Marianne will keep you informed throughout the whole process and answer any questions you may have. Andy and Paul will not have forgotten you and still will be actively involved with the construction of your garden room. It will then be time to have your foundations laid, and once completed our team of skilled carpenters will arrive and you will be surprised at the speed that it takes to go up. The room will soon become water-tight and electrics installed and also any required plumbing work done. The plasterers will then come in and once dry will be painted to a colour of your choice. The engineered wood flooring will be installed and then the wait will be over and your garden room will become whatever you want it to be. This should take between 6-8 weeks.
5. Handing Over
Before we leave the site every piece of rubbish is cleared from your garden and we will make sure that you are entirely satisfied with our workmanship and correct any problems that there maybe, leaving you to enjoy your room. Your garden project is complete!
