How do you wire a summer house?
We can take care of all the wiring for you if you want to plug in electrical devices like computers and WiFi routers. This is something we will discuss during the design stage so you can be sure you have enough sockets in all the right places to meet your needs. If you decide to do some wiring after the summer house is installed, it’s best to call an electrician.
How big can a garden building be?
Garden buildings come in all shapes and sizes, and you can choose the size that suits you best. However, there are a few upper limits to be aware of if you don’t want to apply for planning permission. For example, the overall height should be no more than 3 metres, but it can be 4 metres for a dual-pitched roof. Also, the maximum size should be no more than 10m2. The best thing to do is ask us during the design stage and we will let you know whether you are likely to need planning permission.

Painting a wooden summer house is a relatively straightforward task. All of our summer houses are painted for you in the colours you choose, so you won’t have to do anything. If you want to paint it yourself, however, you should do so on a clear day without rain. Make sure the timber is clean, then apply a wood preserver first. Then simply apply your chosen wood paint (or wood stain if you want a more natural finish). If you want to, you can apply a clear topcoat at the end. ""
